Well, I got 30 years out of it, and would still have gone a few years, but the old shingles were so brittle I lost a few this winter again.
So, I bite the bullet and having it replaced.
New drip edge profile. Extends more in the gutter.

Which one is you?
My goodness, in my younger years, I’d hate to contract replacing a roof for a home inspector. Kind of like doing a home inspection for a lawyer… (LOL)
Ahh, a new roof…nice!
Hopefully the deck doesn’t get too scratched up. Covering it would have helped.
Most times the “ground crew” around here has tarps all over the place for that very thing.
Years ago, when I was getting a new roof, I heard the boss tell the crew (in Spanish) that I was a home inspector and don’t screw up anything.
It gets easier each time you see it. Due to wind & hail, I’ve had three roofs & two sets of gutters replaced since 2011. Not sure if we will see shingles surpass their normal life expectancy again around here.
They had a tarp on it, and I have to re-paint it anyways. They were good at picking up and cleanup.
Not this time.
I did one of those one time and was not to bad at all.
The first lawyer that I am aware that I did an inspection for said “It won’t matter” when I said I needed a signature on my pre-inspection agreement.
I told him he would surely clean my clock in a courtroom but I needed his signature for my peace of mind so it didn’t get that far.
He chuckled and then referred me to his attorney friends and I ended up doing many over the years. They were fine to inspect for…good $ too!

I love working for attorney’s, 99% don’t take any BS.
Tackling the high part today. Very windy and the tarp was just released prior the picture.
Glad it’s them up there and not me.
You have a lovely home Marcel.

My roof is 27 years old so soon I’ll be in the market for a new roof too. Just out of curiosity what do they charge in your neck of the woods?

He gave me a quote last year that he will honor of $8,075 but will likely add for replacing lead flashing on my fireplace chimney and two pieces of 1/2 plywood that were a little spongy. One piece 16"x4’ was rotted cause by the siding guy that did my siding 10 years ago and one on the high roof with unknow causes. That includes all new drip edge, winter guard, and underlayment. They are well known for quality work. Father and two sons. It would have been a few hundred dollars cheaper if I would have used his subs, but there would not have been any quality control, and I can’t go up on the roof any longer.

Dynasty shingles. Class 3 impact rating. Good shingle.
How many square, Marcel. I am going to guess 11 or 12 square.
