Cost: $229 after amazon coupon Thermal Resolution: 256x192 Frame Rate: 25hz Temp Range: -4°F to 1022°F
Pros:
No recharging needed. Runs off phone battery.
Images go directly to phone for onsite reporting.
Cheap for the resolution, and small.
Cons:
No MSX. This one hurts. If every IR image is preceded in the report by a non-ir image of the same thing, this helps the eye understand what it’s looking at in a similar way, I think.
Easily breakable, no doubt.
Kinda impressed, for the price. Similar specs to the FLIR E6 Pro, besides the MSX. Actually, marginally better resolution.
I have the USB-C “Android” version. I also bought the case which spring mounts to my phone and I connect via a cable.
So far I love it. Especially capturing the pictures directly on my phone. Just a few taps to import directly into HIP and I have special annotations to indicate in which room the picture was taken.
Me too, still going strong. I had to get an extender to use it with my phone case. The cable drove my crazy trying to get a straight framed shot. And I’ve also found that sometimes the frame rate is quick, but sometimes it lags a lot.
So easy though, I just throw it in the little pocket in my tool belt! Easy to grab whenever I need it.
I’d feel really good about one day getting a $1500+ flir, but topdon is unbelievable bang for the buck. I’m not sure when I’ll feel compelled to spend that much more.
