Joe,

Sounds like another positive step towards NACHI dominance in the Home Inspection Industry. Keep up the good work.

I wanted to take a quick glance at their membership numbers, but it states "Coming Soon". Is this a start-up group that got their recognition through the public as they had SB 31 suspended/circumented?

Sounds like a positive move in the right direction. Neeexxt.

Hi Joe

I for one see nothing in principle wrong with joining this group, however i would like to know rather more about their members, and their goals than they currently state on their website.

I certainly see their proposal on licensing being very much in tune with our own aspirations.

Please let us know how this developes.

Regards

Gerry

Joe,

Please excuse my ignorance. What is a key state?

Hi Joe and Others,

The link to the APHI has extremely sparse information regarding member and principals. How is it possible to evaluate the benefits of joining such a group with insufficient information.

All of us need to be very careful when it comes to preserving and improving upon the reputation of NACHI.

Our organization is a leader in the industry not a follower.

I know the recommendation to join the group is well intentioned but lets be very careful.

Best regards,

Get the info and ask some pertinent questions and go from there.

Hope they will be willing to come on board and talk.

A question: If they are willing to talk with us on an open form, would this be better to start on members only section?

Hi,

I attempted to get in touch with them, in order to do an article about them for The Inspector's Journal, but their e-mail function displayed an error message whenever I clicked send, so I don't know if they got the query or not.

It's curious that they showed up on the HI scene at the same time as another organization with a similar acronym - America's Association of Professional Home Inspectors (http://www.aaphi.com). Home inspectors around the country, including myself, were somewhat surprised to find themselves listed on that site last week.

I wonder if the principals are the same folks? The AAPHI seems to be a sort of BBB about the home inspection business, where people can file complaints about service they've obtained from a home inspector. APHI's purpose is not really that clear. Does anyone have a phone number for these folks, so I can telephone them directly?

I'm also interested in soliciting input from home inspectors about what their impression is of either of these organizations, for inclusion in an article that I plan to post to TIJ when we debut the new format. Anyone interested in providing me on-the-record input for the article, please email me separately.

Joe H,

Do we have a bill number or reference for the pending legislation in Illinois? If so, could we post it, as well as the other pending items to the appropriate state sites in the "State Legislation" thread for access by our members and other concerned inspectors.

As a proclaimed "Consumer Interest" group involving several elements of our industry, we may want to make sure that their actions are in fact supportive of "Home Inspectors" and we have a strong voice in the new organization.

Just my thoughts! ![icon_smile.gif](upload://b6iczyK1ETUUqRUc4PAkX83GF2O.gif)

Definitely need more information regarding who they are, short and long term goals.

One of their rep's on the forum would be great. The way I see it right now, too many questions not enough answers yet.

Sound principles on the Bill of Rights.

Joe,

I looked on the web-site so I could cantact them but there is no contact information.

Do you have a number? Are they willing to come on and be available for Q & A.

I would like to know what legislation they are following in Texas, and what there position is.
