A friend of mine is selling his house. Recently, he replaced his hot water heater and did not properly align the TPR with the copper pipe, so he joined them with a piece of radiator hose which clamp to the pipe. Is that okay or not?

Ed, not it is not okay. Should be unobstructed 3/4" piping, preferrably PVC piping.
