Why use green and black conductors when you can simplify the process and use white wires for everything, and then just relabel with green, black, and red tape? First time I’ve seen this; anyone else? I was told that white conductors in raceways cannot be re-identified as ungrounded conductors regardless of the conductor size.

The guy probably bought all the white wire from some skell at a swap meet who stole it from Home Depot.

A white conductor in a raceway cannot be re-identified as an ungrounded conductor. Also there is a 50 amp circuit breaker with #10 AWG conductors connected to it. Time to call a real electrician and start over.

Wouldn’t that be ok if the minimum ampacity on the hvac namplate was rated 30amps and the max breaker/fuse was 50?
Yes it would but in this case it’s feeding the single receptacle the left of the panel.
