I did a brief stint with the Local Housing Authority back in the early 90's as A "Modernization Inspector". Program funding for contractors was through the Chicago Office. Payouts back then were very slow (90-120 days typical, sometimes more) and no one seemed to care. Depending on your cash flow needs, this may not be an issue, but I would strongly recommend you try to locate some inspectors involved in the program to see what their experiences have been in your area.

Thanks for the good advise. Getting paid 90-120 days will not be doable as I'm pretty new out of the gate, but I will check with other local inspectors.
