I just inspected a home built in 1995, it had a ball valve on the condensate line… I have seen that before and wondered if anyone has come across it.

Short answer Nope just another fitting to slim over and stop the drain up I would ask for removal

installed for cleaning line/and or repairs…is bottom pan drain still working
