I am new at this site, and trying to figure out what the code dimensions are on vent termination.

We went over this in school, but I need extra help !!!

What vents terminate through the roof besides water heater, and wet vents ? How far above the roof line do these vents terminate ?

What about vents that terminate throught the side of a structure ?

What types and how far above a window etc ?

Can't seem to get this !!!

Thanks for helping out a newbie ! ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

Five.Five,

Suggestion for ya: Research the Code Check books www.CodeCheck.com.

Make flash cards on 3x5 index cards on vents. Question/drawing on front, answer on back. Memorize.

Regards,

Bill

Bill,

I do have the Code Check book(s) and looking on page 19, dwg. MT-1

B & BW vent termination.

I understand the rise/run dwg. on mt-1, but confused as the clearances on mt-2.

Maybe I need to understand what B & BW vents are.

five.five,

Pg. 19, A Field Guide to Building a Safe House.

mt-2 describes the A, B and C clearances for the seven items across the top of the table.

The A, B and C clearance dimensions are given for a building, window and a forced vent.

B and BW are defined on the introduction page.

...hope this helps,

Bill
