What is the recommended clearance on the roof for furnace flues. I have a flue terminating below a dormer and about 2 feet to one side of the dormer window. If this window were opened and the furnace was running carbon monoxide would empty into that room. I need the specific numbers on the clearance, thanks.

From my Code Check there are 3 references that may apply.
1. Minimum 4' below or to the side and 1' above window or door - IRC 2427.8
2. Minimum 1' above any building opening - ditto
3. Minimum 2' above any vertical surface less than 8' away - I can't find the specific IRC reference for this as Code Check only shows this one in a drawing
