It actually doesn’t take much more time if you use software that handles video quickly and efficiently …
Dom will get it there sooner or later no doubt ,if anything I have possibly helped get him extra motivated to improve some things that much quicker …
With regards to the Sammys, I own 3 of them 1 blk 2 whites all have locked up consistently since loading the last updated version back in Sept…I was forced to stop using the app…
Bummed me out as I had it clicking along pretty damn good…
They cannot handle any abuse whatsoever though…
I’m so damn busy I can’t see straight, if this is a precursor to what this spring and summer holds then we are all in trouble…
In that plan I have decided to cease inspecting all septic systems, radon testing and water testing.
I just removed them from my website and told agents that I am now done doing that …
The amount of aggravation and loss of money is not worth it.
Kevin get the latest updated beta from Dom as you will love the added features with bigger thumbnails and ability to send any shot no matter what section you are in to a different one with double tap. On desktop you can now edit and resort from red / black.
I don’t always use the video in a report or show it to client, but sometimes I’ll edit together a little video just as an aded bonus.
I’m considering offering a full video inspection report (at an extra cost) as an option. I already have the software. I don’t know how many people would actually take me up on that.
Bob
I guess my tantrum prompted Dom to get it out immediately after my video…
that’s a good thing…
I tried to update to see what changes he made but they decided to change my PW and I’m blocked on their website…
Dom told me to send for a new one but I feel they’ve already showed how they operate by changing my pw … pretty pathetic …
I have it stored in my Firefox browser and it’s not changed on my end …remember I just recently logged in to post my rant over there with no issues…
suddenly I’m locked out …and it’s supposed to be a coincidence …me thinks not.
Gotta go , 3 inspections today and NO septic , NO Radon , No running to lab to send off water samples…
Life has just gotten simple for me …Perform Home or commercial Insp go home create report …
send it off…
No more treking across the state to retrieve radon monitors to find yourself locked out or the agent doesn’t get you the lockbox code because they are too busy on vacation or planning their next one .
No more post hole diggers , shovels, core taker (**** stick) 5’ crow bar …digging through ice tundra to stare a pile of **** in the eye …lol… daddy is done !
I’ve had 3 calls yesterday alone for septic inspections where their inspector didn’t perform that service
I turned them all down …not even for $600 …I’m done
I’m gonna be a pre Madonna inspector now and stick to structures only plus thermal…
Next I’m going to take my realtors license and start making the fat cash these bozos are doing
with an added twist If I represent or offer a home for my client I’ll have already checked it out fully for them
That is a plus in marketing yourself as an agent or shall I say a double agent half agent half Inspector.
I’ve watched these guys grab 50 G and up per sale while I get $1200.00 I think I wanna go large
A 50G commission? Yeah, right. A million dollar home would normally bring a TOTAL $50k commission, split by the selling and listing side. Do you have lots of million dollar sales in your area?
As for performing both the sale and inspection, I would bet dollars to donuts your real estate license would be suspended quickly as would your membership from any legitimate home inspection association. It is a conflict of interest and a violation of just about every known code of ethics.
whoa !! Leroy slow down there …
you’re jumpin to more conclusions than I can keep up with …
Apparently you live in the slums and there isn’t any real money transacting there …
That kind of money is made by agents in this area, I see it…
Yes we have a very large amount of high dollar homes around here …
I find it comical that you try and make a wise *** remark about it as if it isn’t
a reality since "you " don’t happen to be in that league.
I didn’t say perform the inspection as in charge them but rather inspect the damn home I’m listing or looking at for my clients pro bono…
It’s a marketing asset to offer that knowledge to your client if you’re an agent
You can point out all the items that need to be addressed to sell faster ,
or, if you’re a buyers agent you can pretty much steer them away from a home during the walk thru if it’s a lemon…
Why ??? because you’re a (former) home inspector as well, you’re not selling the service it’s an added bonus…
I would be an agent not a home inspector…
I’d be done inspecting …
It’s not complicated ,think about it Stephen…
I guess I’m the only inspector who has watched agents soak up fat pay outs on closing and didn’t know
a damn thing about the home.
Have you ever considered that a home inspector (if skilled socially) can make one helluva successful agent?
I have …I think all of us have a huge ace in our pocket…
Besides do you wanna get up on those icy rooftops and cob web filled crawlspaces forever ?
Here’s a perfect analogy…
Do you want to buy a sports car from a salesman who couldn’t tell you what the timing in a car does ?
Don’t you think a person making a living at selling something has a duty , and an obligation to know,
Live and love every detail about the very item they are representing ?
I do …
And I see real estate agents sell million dollar homes every week who couldn’t tell you what the most elementary
details about a home even are…
If I was a buyer or a seller I’d search for somebody who had a clue and was showing me homes that actually are worth a damn…
Not wasting my time, and the agent would be far more successful since he would be far more efficient .
This thread is about implementing video into reports …keep it on topic…
Excuse me but you were the one that went off topic. I was just responding to your post. As for prices, I will keep the high and median price of homes in my area. They put yours to shame.
On topic though… how are those blank white boxes for videos working for you.
HG will make a software change to give those that want an image. But those white boxes as you put it is a choice. It has a play head on it and it creates curiosity to click on it. It does not get confused with a pic. This wasn’t a limit it was a preference.
Here is a comment from an email I received this weekend from an inspector using video:
“Russell I have completed a report that I need to send out today, but I am over my file sized allowed. The report is 20mb. It does contain 7 videos and 140 pictures. I am using more and more video, because the clients love it and the agents like it as well to document issues in the home. With that being said I need to increase my upload capabilities to 30mb a report.”
Just passing along positive comments on using video in your report.
I’m so busy I don’t really have time to even participate on here …
The Home Gauge is kicking Bootay !
It’s apparent you’re a HIP fan boy Stephen ,so you get ignored by default …
It looks like you’re spending plenty of time on these forums
I don’t have time , too much work…
Just back in my office with 3 inspections under my belt today…
Considering the fact you are here all the time says you aren’t
very busy …LOL!
Here’s an email from an agent who is on the Top Team for sales in this town…
Received today while on another job…
To those that think Video isn’t a critical factor , I get a big chuckle from…
No problem , keep that mindset as your competition blows your *** away .
Hi Kevin,
Are you available this Wednesday to do an inspection for my clients who are purchasing a home at #### Churchill Dr in Ann Arbor? They are first time home buyers, younger couple from California. They cannot attend the closing and I believe your method of using detailed video and photographs for the inspection process will be perfect for them. I can meet you there. Around 10 or 11 am would be ideal for me, 1 pm at the latest. Let me know if this works and I will put you in touch with my clients to organize the details and payment. Thanks!
To Our Mutual Success,
