Washer discharge drain pipe

Can anyone help explain where this washer is draining too connected in the ground? Also is this proper process, first I ever seen

Probably into a grey water pit. That’s illegal in NJ. Don’t know where you are. I get this from your website:

Often done to improperly bypass the septic, or some other ill-conceived drainage solution.

Did you run the washer to see if anything shows up? I see those frequently just dumping water out in the yard somewhere.

There wasn’t a washer present at the inspection to test , this is located in Florida

We are in Florida, thanks I need to fix that web address it is wrong

Hard to say where it goes but entering the ground like that doesn’t look proper…maybe FL. I used to carry a short length of hose to test the washer drains as needed.

It could very well be tied into the sewer pipe. You could get by with that in Florida probably. I would recommend a sewer scope I suppose to see what is going on, unless the seller can provide some info.

In that case , it should have a p trap ?

Definitely. Did you happen to take a sniff at the top of the pipe?

Also, looks like wooded land. Is this on city sewer, or private septic?

It city sewer, no didn’t catch any sewer scent

That could be an indication that it doesn’t go to sewer, but not a definitive one.
