Is there currently a code that requires a washing machine drip pan? I could have sworn that there were requirements for a washer on an upstairs floor needed one.

he’s right, good idea, but sounds like a little overkill. if the washer overflows, how big does the pan need to be to hold 10 or 15 gallons of soapy water. and if the drain is clogged than the pan won’t catch it anyway, but I could be wrong
