Water heater hookup...need advice.

Robert I am talking about a New Design. A third outlet added on the bottom to allow PRV in the same location.
This allows less chance of problems and downspout is still in the same area.

They already exist. It is a galvanized T, placed between the nipple and flex line. Why would any company want to go to the expense of changing the design and manufacturing process of water heaters for an item that is limited in use when a $2 connector will suffice?

You can’t use this with a WATTS 210 set up and that is the problem.

To change the subject, isn’t that galvanized gas piping?

Yes you can. Did you not look at the manufacturer’s installation instructions that were posted?

Yes - which is allowed in CA.

You need valves that operate on high temperature and pressure at the top of the water heater. No other model code options.

Yes Stephen I did but you fail to see that I am talking about the downspout only no other turns or pipes. KISS Keep it simple.
