Hey Guys-
I’m thinking this looks more like a water well connection but wanted to double-check with you all. Buried oil tanks usually don’t have conductors running to them like this do they? Original house was 1917 but it had a couple of add-ons…no disclosure was available.Thanks.

Also, the back area of the house where the pipes were located was covered by a large enclosed deck. So I wasn’t able to see if there was a fill or vent pipe nearby.
Document, refer, move on. Perhaps suggest a scope of the line. Many older homes have filled-in cisterns and wells.
If it’s adjacent to a solid concrete porch, it is likely it was a cistern. There are many still in use around this part of the country
