We won. A group effort causes Spectora's CEO to apologize

Maybe you haven’t read mine. I made my opinion of this attempted change known on this forum in multiple threads, in the associated FB groups, and personally to Spectora. As a matter of fact, my nagging them may be one of the reasons (amongst others) that they backed off a bit. Also, I publicly stated on the forum, in multiple threads, the other software I am testing as alternatives (including Ben’s). So no, I do not have…

and I am not….

I think I did. I should have added, that my analogy was not directed at anyone in particular and when I wrote it, I didn’t even think of you. It is a comment on how hard change can be and how we get forced into it, sometimes.

Still forcing you to opt-out not “in“. Anyone have a good alt for Spectora that they like?

It’s no problem Lon. Other’s comments you quoted were directed at me, that’s why I responded to your post. We’re all good, I appreciate your input and presence on the forum.

What is Spectora going to do with the data they collect? Are they planning on selling the names and data of our clients to these companies on the side?

I don’t believe their plan (this time) was to actually “sell data.” It was basically to offer up services from 3rd parties, and if the client bought into any of the services, Spectora would probably get a commission. On top of that, they are probably collecting a base fee from the 3rd parties just to be included in the Fixle program.

How does that differ from “selling data?” Selling data would be more along the lines of collecting a conglomerate of desirable data from our clients and/or their reports, and then selling that bundle of data to say, an insurance company. In that scenario, Spectora would be paid for the data, not paid on a commission type arrangement.

At the end of the day, I consider both of these undesirable for most inspectors. But many inspectors do already offer up 3rd party services. It’s just that they have full control over it, and get full benefit of it, unlike the proposed Spectora plan.

What’s next? Who knows!

They’ve been selling data all along!

You apparently know very little and are very confused. You’re definitely a fan boy.

You’re like my own personal little stalker buddy. :face_blowing_a_kiss:

I agree Bert. Not an apology. I’ve already signed up with Hive. So far, pleased with the platform. Learning curve has been short.

Good to hear, Von. I hear that Hive is easy to learn. That’s important. I need to get productive in a short window. I’m moving to Hive or one of a couple others I’m looking at. I’m comparing features and considering carefully. It’s a real hassle changing software, but Spectora’s shenanigans are unacceptable.

I’ll let you know after next week. I’ve got all inspections next week on the Hive platform. Still keeping Spectora for another month to make 100% sure Apoorv gets all of my inspections moved to Hive. After I’ve confirmed everything has been successfully moved I’ll cut them off.

Which other ones are you considering?
