Congrats everyone. And kudos to Peter Osberg.
We?
It’s a pompous and arrgoant “apology.”
You can keep the service which was already paid for a few more weeks/months until you find the new thing. ![]()
It’s a good win. Congrats to all the Spectora customers who flooded Spectora with complaints. Also, thanks to industry leaders like Nick who put their stamp of disapproval on it. Let’s hope report software providers have finally gotten the message. We don’t work for them, they work for us.
Now if we could just get that across to politicians, lol.
Agreed! 100%. Why is “Fixle” even mentioned in the “apology”? They are SO out of touch (with reality).
I’ve apologized many times to many people over the years and that WAS NOT an apology.

I give some credit to Nathan Thornberry for doing a video with me that we sent to them: Watch Nick Gromicko and Nathan Thornberry video on recent Spectora change
Congrats to all.
sounds like a great apology in this day and age…
if they really cared about anything other than money, besides not doing this in the first place, it would be opt in and not opt out. that is how you can tell when someone has your interests in mind and not just money. but it’s like talking to a tree it seems.
So, reading between the lines, is this your way of saying that you aren’t leaving Spectora for greener pastures? ![]()
well maybe in 1 or 2 years. Or 3 or 4

I still cancelled my subscription, more need to do so as well, the only way to show them we are serious about these things, they also need to remove the other partnerships, we are not in the business to share client info with any company, who cares if 1 out of 100 sign up for secure24. That $200 is not worth it. ADT and all these other comp need to find their own clients, just like we do.
Reminds me of my ex-wife. She’d apologize and everything was good for a few weeks, and I’d hope maybe, just maybe, this time, the crazy maybe, was finally over. You know, for the sake of the kids and the hassle of divorce, and a new start and all that excrement excuses we make for inaction; I’d stick it out just one more time…and then the crazy returned. Thank God she finally divorced me and set me free.
After the commitment in time and money, it’s hard to quit. New starts are hard. I’m sympathetic.
It reminds me of someone being strangely absorbed with some other inspector’s software choice.
I have about as much interest in another inspector’s software choice as I do in their failed marriage relationship status. That being, none.
As a HomeGauge user this provides insight to what is in store for us. That was not an apology because they are not sorry. That was a minor course correction with an opt out option.
The CEO likely had ChatGPT draw up the letter while between holes at the country club.
You seem a little touchy and you haven’t read my posts on this topic. So, I’ll summarize a little. I don’t have any of the commercial software reports, but I am looking at trying one. I tried Ben’s but got locked out of it and haven’t been able to get back in. Oh well, I’m moving on. Your undying love for Spectora is touching and frankly, says a lot of positives about it and was a factor in my considering it, until this recent hoopla over it. Since, I’m not invested in it like you, easy to move on. I get that you are in a marriage with it. My little anecdote and analogy was about hard it is to break a marriage with crazy. Maybe Spectora hasn’t reached crazy for you. Reading some posts on other threads and sites, there are plenty of inspectors that are fine to happy with Spectora, even after this latest episode in their transformational saga.
No skin off my nose. But the fact that you responded as you did to my little analogy, shows in fact you do care…a lot about what other inspector’s interests are. And maybe you should, because if enough folks defect from Spectora (unlikely), then Spectora will have the largest headstone in the home inspector graveyard and change will be forced on you. You’re one of the best out there and your opinion matters to me.
You had better believe they’re coming your way. Spectora bought HomeGuage from the same place Fixle came from, American Family Insurance. Fixle is also a portal into Nathan’s products. They are not just "in bed with each other", they are having a wild orgy sex party and it’s only a matter of time before you’re invited into the bedroom.
I have Home Gauge and bought it back when you owned the software. I don’t subscribe to their HTML nonsense or additional services.
If you opt for your business to be in bed with the software company.you will get screwed sooner or later. Your choice.
That’s a huge red flag right there.
That’s a funny but sad description of what is occurring!
That was no apology from Spectora. They are still planning to harvest our clients’ data somehow, some way, whether they disclose it or not.
I’m evaluating alternatives.
