Well distance from septic

Anyone ever had to fill out any special form to verify the distance between the well and the septic and if so what form is it. I note the distance but never had a client ask for a special for requested by the mortgage co.

These need to be done by a Professional Engineer or a Professional Land Surveyor when they are submitted to a Health Department – I would imagine that the mortgage lender could accept it from anyone that they feel is qualified for their purposes. The distance is normally 50’, 75’ or 100’ in some instances depending if the well is potable water or not. On some properties, especially waterfront properties where there is also a septic setback from the Mean High Water Line, these distances can render a property unbuildable, or at least prohibit additions which trigger an increase in drainfield area.

don’t forget - uphill from septic

There should be an “as built” design with footage. Check your county health department . Many are available on-line depending on your area.

Just tell them they are one in the same and have a good filter.

That’s called SoCal water…
