Although im not CMI, I have the insurances in place, could set up a cmi management,LLC(DBA) have a CMI only Target market, With alocal CMI delegate controlling their region… We literally have insurances out the wazoo…
E/0,GL,2million umbrella. Very strict insurance requirements for Citizens. Nachi management is set up to subcontract our members the work. A CMI DBA could theoretically do the same using nachi management’s insurances which are already in place and which are quite expensive. Just target highend/commercial(like nick said) and created a nationwide Certified Master Inspector Preferred vendor network.
Peer review and mentoring would be good. It’s easy to become isolated (at least out here in western SD) I work hard at being my own worst critic. It would be nice to maybe once a year be required to send in a report or two for a critical review by others.
Keith did you know that is one of your benefits from NACHI? I mean if they ACTUALLY do it or not is beyond me. Hell you can do that now. I will read one and give you my honest feed back. No problem. Mine is on my webiste if you want to to do the same for me…Here to help if ya need it.
Appriciate that. The one that is on my web site is old and I’ve changed/upgraded since. I’ll put one of my “tweaked” reports up and let you know. Like I said being out here away from everyone it’s easy to follow a wrong path and I review my reports two or three times a year hopefully with an unbiased eye but you know how that can go.
How many CMIs would it take to form our own Insurance company .
If 100 each put up $10,000;00 that would be $1,000,000;00
I wonder would we have enough Money to Get an underwriter to talk to us , and hire a Director and staff to start our own company .
Thoughts from Nick,Joe Ferried and others would be appreciated.
I am sure even if we charged exactly the same as other companies we would succeed .
Stopping paying frivolous claims would hurt at first but I am sure after winning a few this could soon put us in a profit mode ??? How does it sound being a share holder in our own company
