Is it me, or do the feeders leave the 1st sub as Al and arrive at the 2nd sub as Cu?

On closer examination, I see some wires entering into the left side of the 1st sub-panel without any strain relief or protective fitting. The wires are in danger of chafing through at the panel hole that they pass through.

Gerry are you getting at the fact that there is no neutral feeding the 1st sub and it is made up like it is the service disconnect enclosure?

The real issue here is that the stranded aluminum conductor seen in the Main panel is the neutal that is feeding the first sub.

the Main (yeah Iknow ............ service panel containing the main disconnect) has no ground at all !! ![icon_eek.gif](upload://yuxgmvDDEGIQPAyP9sRnK0D0CCY.gif)
