Here is a great reason that the outer and inner doors should be installed on a hot water heater. The unit was 6 years old. It was damaged on install. The inner door was know where to be seen and the outer would not close because of the damage.
The inner door was no where to be seen. Da inna door ws no wear too bee scene. Ya cudda fuled me.
Possibly the beginnings of flame roll out?
