I inspected a home today and normally I find one main amp breaker in the panel. This time I inspected a 1952 home that had several main amps (up to six), so I’m not sure what the amperage should be stated on the report. The SOP states that I must state the amperage so I’m fixated on this issue. Any insights on this issue will be much appreciated. Same topic in emergency section, but thought the sparky’s out there might have a good explanation for what is going on.
150amp
Panel looks like hell though. Just an opinion. I hate everything about this panel
Take pic and insert in report as many older homes have main for lighting and another for power. Then you have appliances. Older panel recommend upgrade and BTW white tape on neutral.
Grounded (NEUTRAL) conductors ARE white…??..??
On the service conductor.
Forget the breakers. The rating will be determined by the SEC or the panel rating, the lesser of the two. I highly doubt it’s 150amp panel.
It looks like there is no main breaker in this panel which is a deficiency. Therefore, you can not provide this information.
This is a split bus panel. The mains are identified on the cover.
With the visible defects in the panel, report them and state without a main you can not be certain and have the repair electrician identify size
There are main breakers. It is a split-bus panel.
