What do you think about using tablet computers in the field and what’s the best inspection software? I’ve been using HomeGauge but I have some issues with it. And I have not been able to get the knack of using the tablet computer during an inspection. Any advice

Try report host (www.reporthost.com). The software can be customized to suit your needs.
Lisa,
I am using reporthost. I have yet to do a paid inspection, but have done a few homes for the practice. I wrote them up on reporthost. How long does it take you to do a report with pictures there? Seemed like it took forever. Maybe I'm just not used to the system and may speed up after getting the hang of it.

Kevin,
The reporting system by report host takes a while to get use to but seems to work fairly well when you get the hang of it. Remembering to save after every detail is a bit cumbersome. What I like about it is I have the ability to customize the report system, use my own paragraphs. I have the report writing down to about 20-30 min per report now. The key is the custom paragraphs.
