Wind Mit: Roof Covering

I am not in HVHZ and have some questions on the Roof Covering Section. Struggling with the form and would appreciate some clarification:

  1. On A, what is the reason a reroof can qualify as of 3.1.02 but an original roof needs to be 2004 or later?

  2. On A, “All roof coverings listed above meet the FBC with a FBC or Miami-Dade Product Approval listing current at time of installation”

— To answer this would the inspector locate a sticker on extra roofing material (if available) and look them up to determine which version of the FBC/MDC the materials comply with **and **see if that code version was in effect at the time of reroof/original construction?

  1. On B “All roof coverings have a Miami-Dade Product Approval listing current at time of installation”

— Isn’t this an overlap with A which asks the same thing?

  1. On B “OR the roof is original and built in 1997 or later.”

— If a home is built 1997 - 3.1.02 and roof is original is the answer B?

  1. In general, does Miami-Dade Product Approval listing have any relevance on the Wind Mit Form outside Miami-Dade/Broward counties?

  2. If roof is pre 3.1.02 but is screwed down, is the answer A? I have been told this.

Call me I am near the phone for a while and do not feel like typing  10:16am
