It will never happen as each underwriter has a different mindset. This will never be black and white until the OIR puts out a set of guidelines that all should follow.
John and others, this conversation is exactly what I’m looking for. I’m having a debate as well about this roof that I’ve measured with a Dutch Gable (I believe it’s called). Problem is with the rear gable? I’m prone to include both measurements in the calculations (218’ total perimeter, 17’ across front gable and 15’ across rear gable).
John, your comment “ie, over lapping gables are only counted once.” has me wondering if I should not count the rear gable end but my understanding says I should. So, add both gables or just the front?
I wish the state would come out with some definitive answers on this issue since legislators are the ones who mandated credits be given.
