I did a wind mit on a new home in florida which didn’t use hurricane clips or straps on the roof to top plate connection. Instead used three Brown screws. I found the orange screws by simpson listed in the IRC but cant find a brown screw that would qualify. Has anyone seen this before?
No strap or clip?
How were you able to see these screws? Are you talking about screws diagonally down through the truss into the plate?

Figured it out. The screws are through the top plate into the rafter at the bottom. Impossible to see behind sheetrock. I am going to have to say “toenails” because I cant verify. Builder wont call me back.
