Wind Mitigation window questionable

I just started doing wind mitigations and need some input. The house was built in 1989 and has cathedral ceilings with 2 windows at the peak of the ceiling. Client replaced all windows in house but those. Being that original 1989 windows, i did not go up there to inspect them. I thought windows prior to 2006 would not comply to protection. Rookie move on my behalf to never assume, “check anyways”. I guess i need REASSURANCE from fellow inspectors. Please don’t bash as i’m learning everyday like most.

The fact that they are original doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not rated. You have to look and verify (same as the new windows, no guarantee they’re rated just because they’re new).
Chances are those eyebrow transom windows were never rated.

And it would help to know where in the State you’re located.

Located in Citrus County. I’m having a mental block at the moment and it will be a dumb question to most but Tempered glass isn’t Wind borne protected because tempered breaks into small pieces unlike laminated glass breaks but stays in place due to the laminate. The side garage entry door had Tempered glass etched in. Any reassurance will help. The side door in garage had no label on door as well to verify impact rating and it’s a 2989 door anyways do it wouldn’t comply but I’m more mainly concerned about the etching for future knowledge. Also, I have seen a description for etching on the internet a few weeks back that tells you what the numbers and everything else in the etching means but now I can’t find it. Anyone have that they can share. Thanks again for your helpin
