A good bet would be to enroll in a training Program. I completed AHITs 6 Day training that included marketing. http://www.ahit.com Then I studied, studied and studied to pass the NHIE (National Home Inspector Exam). It's not easy. Then the state exam which really covers the state rules and regulations governing home inspectors.
