AAA Construction school offers grandfathering help.

Kim, Welcome to NACHI. You made the right decision choosing NACHI. This association has great benefits and some very helpful members some are passionate as you can see in this thread and others. Go to your profile and include your location.

Kim welcome to NACHI, you will find the best education money has to offer and it will pay for itself time and again.

You are 100% correct there is no magic pill to marketing. You are the master of marketing or you would not have as many members as you do. But you only goal is to enlarge the organization not to better it. Your numbers are awesome. Your reputation as being a less then stellar when it comes to quality is known throughout. That is why you are bastardized. That is why you never got your way with the state. How can much smaller organizations make the law? Because the state did not see you as a viable organization that had alot to offer so it dismissed your recommendations.

I did see you at the meeting, hell I had lunch with you at one. I did see you represent us. I can see your passion for NACHI. I do not see your passion for inspectors. Every step you make is to better NACHI and not the inspectors within. That is why you refusal to mandate the requirements has not be put into affect. Because people would drop out. My point is WHO CARES?..well NICK cares, why? Because once he gets you he will make it almost impossible to for you to leave. Hell I really don’t have to do anything. Just pay my money and wallah I am good for another year. I know you have “requirements” but the pseudo requirements because you are not REQUIRED to perform them to stay a member.

You said yourself it comes down now to marketing. NACHI sucks at it and you have to face that. NO ONE KNOWS NACHI in the Real Estate Arena in a positive light. I tried to bet you that if we called 100 real estate agents that not even 80% would know what NACHI is. That is YOUR FAULT! I would assume you have the funds. I would assume that you have the knowledge…I KNOW you have the knowledge. That just leaves two viable reasons. You don’t care or you don’t want to do it… NEITHER of those answer are credible or even acceptable on any level.

NICK you run a monarchy and apparently that is a leadership style that works for you. But an organization this big needs more than one leader and a couple of people to be the piss boys.

OH MY GOODNESS - but this time it is to NEW prospective members!!! How dare they try to promote NEW membership!!!

If this disheartens some of you I offer the following solution: See the clip directly from ASHI.org below.
If after reviewing this solution - you re-think your dismay - take another FREE InterNACHI on-line course, attend another InterNACHI Chapter meeting, call the FREE legal advise professional paid for by InterNACHI, perform another Four Point and provide your InterNACHI ID Number as a qualifier, and call me in the morning…

For those of you who are considering this AAA Construction class…
Two things to be aware of…because the representation of the ad is very misleading…
This course (or courses) is Not State of Florida CE education approved by the DBPR for Home Inspectors - and it does not provide certification membership required by the DBPR for Grandfathering.
InterNACHI - does not REQUIRE a proctored exam for membership. Just as Nick has tried repeatedly to impress on all those who read this notice.
He is simply allowing you to choose your own education - to make your own choice - and not sensor or deprive anyone of their right to go with an alternate. Nick has not endorsing or approving anything.
And I am very sorry to say this - I think many of you have jumped to conclusions about this matter and have used this to dig up old bones.

SO>>>>>
If you have made up your mind that Free education, frequent – growing and valuable Chapter meetings, the thousands of dollars InterNACHI shells out for stupid things like hand outs, software and tools, meeting room costs, legislative representation, enablement of Florida Home Inspectors to perform Insurance Inspections, cohesion among members in Florida, almost spontaneous resolution to any question or resolve you require assistance with from InterNACHI, actually having someone you can call or count on IN Florida, which by the way was at the good graces, trust and good faith of Nick in allowing the Florida InterNACHI to form and proceed to your advantage in obtaining licensing- Just is not happening for you…

AWESOME…the purpose of that was for what? Nick does not endorse or approve anything? Who are you talking to? If it has NACHI ANYTHING…Nick approves. disapproves and will even close you down with 30 day notice if decides to. So you can go beat that drum somewhere else.

Thanks for the ASHI info. You are proving my point over and over. Why did you pick ASHI? Why not the CAPHI, CREA or any other organization? BECAUSE ASHI IS WELL known! You are totally missing the point. I never said ANYTHING negative about the NACHI education.

And thanks for proving my point even more by stating NACHI spends thousands on marketing. YOUR MARKETING SUCKS…Just because you spend thousands does not mean it works! It just means you are financially irresponsible.

NACHI has this many members its the LARGEST home inspection organization and NO ONE KNOWS we exist except Home Inspectors and Wanna b’s. THAT PRODUCES ZERO INCOME TO MY COMPANY!

Your $239 class is classless in my opinion. It cheapens our profession and the NACHI name…Not that its much of a brand, well at least not in a positive light. Excuse you for trying to get new members…I am all for new members. But by offering what your offering, you can care less about the caliber and just want bodies…Once again Zoe, this is not a personal attack on you or your family but your ad and school is a poor reflection on people who want to call this a profession.

I apologize for being a little over passionate about this subject – but DAMN guys!!!

I represent Florida InterNACHI – I have countless hours invested in - not just YOUR future but my OWN!!
If you think for one minute the $100 a head I make for these exams pays my bills – or compensates me for the countless hours and days away from my business, supplies, clerk, hotel rooms, etc. you are nuts!! And keep in mind I have a sick husband to boot!!
All this thread is - is just another educator selling their wares! What if Nick censored out a vendor YOU liked or perfered??!! Its his JOB to give you a choice!

I don’t like canned software – that’s just me – but you don’t see me attacking every soft ware company that advertises here??!!
And then that thread about what does Florida InterNACHI do for me – Come ON!! Its been 3 ½ months – Walking on water is a skill limited to one man!! I am not HIM>
I have tried for the past 5 years to figure out what Nick must have done that was so terrible that he continuously raises the hair on the back of ya’lls necks – and I just can’t see or find it.
Maybe my time will come – but InterNACHI is a business just like Tire Kingdom or Bright House. The BIGGEST difference is that we all – every one of us - actually receive benefit from the service, association, and memberbership in InterNACHI. You cannot say you don’t… And at a pretty cheep cost I may add.

So with that said – which of you is going to start up the new chapter in Ocala??
Or Ft Myers?? Or what happened to the Orlando Chapter.
Lets keep moving forward – don’t let these little things cloud the future.
We have much bigger fish to fry – but we have to do it together.
Zoe

I know everyone hates ASHI but GEE:

They require 20 continuing educaton credits to maintain their membership. Wow. What a novel idea. And they require a certain amount of inspections (50) to become an associate and 250 to become a certified inspector. Plus you must pass a proctored exam. Now I know a lot of you will say that the NHIE exam is a piece of cake to pass, but al least you cannot cheat on line to take it (Not that the NACHI exam is any harder) and yes, I know someone will throw up statics to prove me wrong.

ASHI Certified Inspectors— Inspectors in this category have:

 • Passed the National Home Inspector Examination and ASHI’s Standards and Ethics module.
 • Had inspection reports successfully verified for compliance with ASHI’s Standards of Practice.
 • Submitted valid proof of performance of at least 250 fee-paid home inspections that meet or exceed the ASHI Standards of Practice.

ASHI Associates w/ Logo— Inspectors in this category have:

 • Passed the National Home Inspector Examination and ASHI’s Standards and Ethics module.
 • ASHI has verified performance of 50 fee-paid inspections in substantial compliance with the Standards of Practice.
 • Had inspection reports successfully verified for compliance with ASHI’s Standards of Practice.

OK Nick, now it your turn to tell everyone that they are a diploma mill. At least they have some requirements and they check educational credits every year. I am so sick of those that degrade other associations. You need to take a close look at yourself first before you do so.

Bill, I have seen the response to this time and again and its the usual double talk. NACHI has the most requirements to maintain your membership than any other organization. BUT…BUT its really not enforced thus making them pseudo requirements. Its the same response every time. He will probably cut and paste the requirements, to PROVE his failing point.

But I do agree that requirements without enforcement is useless…

AH _ HA !!! But there’s a new fly in the pie…
Lisa Endez(spelling??) with InterNACHI has been personnaly montiotring all the new applicants coming through.
Until they actually compelet all the new member requirements she is not proccessing their certitificates.
I know it doesn’t fix the problem for the older memebsr - but it most certainly controlls new members just trying to get a ride to licensing.
Zoe

Is she doing this for ALL new applicants or only the ones in Florida?

Also, as for as us older members, there are still requirements to renew every year besides making a payment. Are members renewing also being monitored?

Correct. And in the many states (such as FL, MS, NH, ND, OK, SC, SD, TN) that use InterNACHI’s online courses for pre-licensing, Lisa checks and verifies to see that they have taken every course, every quiz and passed every exam before issuing them the paperwork required to get their license. That’s 145 hours of VERIFIED and CONFIRMED education and testing folks! Actually, our computer system won’t allow anyone to print the pre-licensing documents and certifications they need to get a license until they are completed and VERIFIED.

By contrast, you can join diploma mill ASHI online in less than 30 seconds with no courses, no quizzes, and no exams… just a valid credit card, which is why ASHI is not accepted for licensing in states where InterNACHI is accepted and approved.

Furthermore, even if you decide to do this AAA deal (A deal that I have a duty to announce, even though it isn’t InterNACHI’s)… you still have to join Florida InterNACHI to get grandfathered and Florida InterNACHI still requires you to pass their proctored exam and you still have to pay $100 for that and you still have to join InterNACHI and do what is required by InterNACHI as membership in InterNACHI is a requirement to join Florida InterNACHI which in turn is a requirement to get grandfathered. And you still have to get it all verified by InterNACHI’s Lisa Endza before she will send your paperwork to the state. Then, on top of all that, you still have to do whatever additional the state requires and pay their fees. And I think you still have to get a background check, insurance, and fingerprints. It’s not as easy and inexpensive as some here are implying.

“By contrast, you can join diploma mill ASHI online in less than 30 seconds with no courses, no quizzes, and no exams… just a valid credit card, which is why ASHI is not accepted for licensing in states where InterNACHI is accepted and approved.”

Nice statement without all the facts. Yes, you can become an associate without taking a test. This does not allow you to use their logo. As stated above, they have to pass the NHIE and have 50 completed inspections to become an associate that can use their logo and 250 inspections to become certified.

For once Nick, why dont you tell the whole truth instead of picking out the words or lines you like to use to make a case. What ever happened to telling the whole truth and not just the part that makes you look good.

How can you say it is not INACHI when you have partnered with them for the exam? Your name is on the flyer. And acutally if you use AAA you dont have to pay for the exam. It says you give it for free.

Just curious - when did this start??

47 minutes ago…Now will You and Russ shut UP!

Nick, please stop fabricating the truth! You have no duty to do anything you don’t want to do!

I have a duty to members to post each and every vendor offer on this message board where members are free to post their criticism and compliments of the vendor and offer.

This allows fellow members to benefit by reading these opinions and even offering their own (much like Angie’s List and Consumer Reports does.)

My nearly decade-long history of providing this benefit to members is not likely to change because you don’t like a particular vendor offer. Posting the offer where you can voice your displeasure (and where your fellow members can read it) is the main reason I post it here.

I will continue with this system… it works.

December 7, 2009.

Why did you not post the Paul Abernathy 13.5 hour audio tape he made? He asked you to? He is a vendor and I thought you we mandated to do this?
