what is the deal with 18 gauge lamp cord ?

I had a similar question come up:

18 gauge lamp cord can be used if:

A) common circuitry ran through walls, bored studs, insulation, if 1/2 inch clearance from insulation.

B) common circuitry ran through walls if protected, bored studs, insulation, and underground.

C) used for rigid wiring and hanging light fixtures

and I can't remember what "D" was....
help....please.... ![icon_sad.gif](upload://nMBtKsE7kuDHGvTX96IWpBt1rTb.gif)

D) Not enclosed inside finished walls and is not hard wired for any circuit.

E) When it is used for plug in lamps.

18ga lamp cord is not allowed as permanent wiring anywhere I've worked, unless it was for low voltage wiring (24volts or less) or speaker wiring.
