Are fire doors required on a bedroom door inside a condo?

Hello,

Are fire doors required on a bedroom door inside of a condo. This is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo in Maui, HI. One bedroom has the ability to be rented out separately from the kitchen and other bedroom, but it is currently being rented as a two bedroom, two bath condo.

So my question is: would a fire door be required on the bedroom?

Are there varying weights of fire doors?

In my area bedroom doors are not required to be fire rated regardless, if the structure has more than 4 units then the entry doors are required to be fire rated.

This is usually the norm. Confirm with your fire marshal and or AHJ.

Define condo? 1 level.

If so, No. The main door is the egress door.
