I have never seen asbestos covered HVAC ducts in person before. These are white and the covering seems to be a plastic material. The house was built in the 60’s. Are the asbestos?

To determine whether that is asbestos wrap would require testing. It does not look like the asbestos I have personally seen on ducts and boiler pipes, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t. It looks like there is yellow fiberglass bat at the end of the insulation at the top picture.

The asbestos I have seen (tested and verified) was either white and corrugated wrap on boiler pipes, or thin cardboard like material on ducts. There are other forms however.

We were using white vinyl back insulation with yellow or pink insulation in the 60’s and still do. Does not look like nothing but vinyl back to me.

Don’t argue with an idiot someone watching may not be able to tell the difference.
