With licencing on the horizon in Quebec and only 12 members in Nachi, licencing will be based on the largest common denominator and that would be CAHPI/National -AIBQ
Le programme de la Certification Nationale pour les inspecteurs de biens immobiliers a été mis sur pied par des inspecteurs de biens immobiliers pratiquant à travers le Canada.
The provincial laws govern provincial bodies or organizations within their own borders. Any organization that wishes to have a national presence is governed by the Canadian biligualism regulations. These guarantee the use of both official languages in all provinces. That is why CAHPI, CREA, etc. who are national entities have to be bilingual in most things. They are obliged to ‘reasonably’ comply with bilingualism regulations.
Gee it looks to me like NACHI is not doing bad on having a National Presence to me.
Ontario 349
British Columbia 61
Alberta 28
Saskatchewan 17
Nova Scotia 15
Quebec 12
New Brunswick 8
Manitoba 2
Newfoundland 1
Northwest Territories 0
Nunavut 0
Prince Edward Island 0
Yukon 0
If NACHI ever wants national recognition by any government agencies they will need to ‘reasonably’ comply with the biligualism regulations.
Roy, I’m not saying these things to attack NACHI, merely pointing out that there might be some future steps to take as things evolve. NACHI should know what to expect in the future.
From the article in *The Independent- *April 18/2007:
“The association is home to more than 10,000 members with about** 700** in Canada.”
700- 500 = minus 200 members/inspectors…Poor Doctor Spin…but even worse…further on in the article, you are** RIGHT ON**:
“For the next 3 years, these people are out trying to learn how to do home inspections off people who are trying to buy a house and they have no knowledge”
“90 percent of home inspectors never last 3 years. It’s so heartbreaking, it’s not fair to them and it’s not fair to people who are trying to buy a house.”
It’s time to stop the HI mills to protect the public. With the fast rate of growth in the numbers of newbies, the problems will grow and the somewhat questionable reputation of the HI industry will suffer. We need a rigid training system with proctoring and verifiable mentoring. People shouldn’t essentially be able to walk in off the street to become CHI’s in a week or two.
I care less how you spin it I have been a member of PACHI, OAHI/CAHPI and NACHI.
From my experience PACHI was the best Canadian association by far and the biggest mistake they made was listening to OAHI and amalgamating with OAHI.
It is a disaster very poorly run and out for the RHI members and the Teaching directors.
They care less about the public do not answer question do little for the members.
There is no comparison between what NACHI and CAHPI does for this industry. NACHI is open and above board answers all questions and is not run by a secret society that gives out nothing but smoke and mirrors.
You are a prime example you have more experienced then many in the CAHPI association and are afraid to say any thing or you will never get your RHI.
You have no where to communicate except via the NACHI web site as CAHPI first of all closed theirs to out siders and then even closed it completely so the Canadians only have the NACHI site to get information.
NACHI is not perfect but sure is a lot better then all the Canadian associations combined.
I see are you telling me I should not be concerned with things about NACHI.
Are we as members not allowed to voice our thoughts and opinions.
That is exactly what caused the fracas before .
Yes! I will not be shut up when I feel the need to speak I will and you and no one else can shut me up.
You Joe weld a big stick and use your power as you wish but you have zero control over me .
The sooner you understand that the sooner we can carry on .
Joe, Can you explain to me how I am hacking this board? I haven’t altered any code, altered anyone emails, thwarted security measures and have played by the agreement I signed up with, even entered under my own name. Help me understand, I like facts not speculation. Cheers, Thanks Joe, no hard feelings, just trying to help with bring things back into harmony.
