Barrel tile roof.

I inspected a brand new house that has a barrel tile roof. Two dozen tiles were broken and glued back together with liquid nails. The roofing company and builder say this is ok and the engineer hired by the builder says ok. The owner is upset and wants the roof pieces replaced with new pieces. She paid for a new roof and I feel she deserves to have new pieces installed.

This is in florida and I feel that the glue will not hold up. I have not run into this before. I would like help on this matter before I speak to the builder and roofing company again.

Good luck ![eusa_wall.gif](upload://hILV5Z8gRVLwzVpRIDJEm01uB52.gif), your client's gonna need to hire her own engineer to get any attention from the builder. What does the tile mfg have to say? Contact their local rep.

My builder told me the squeaks in the floor were normal and to be expected…they will say anything to try and save a buck.

I would contact the manufacture and a reputable roofer.

Your client could always hold off closing the deal until repairs are made. However, she should be prepared to kill the deal all together.

Get it in writing, and get some photos for documentation, and like Mike stated refer to the manufactures recomendations on repair of broken tiles.
