Looking for a good inspection boot that slips on (doesn’t tie) and is comfortable for a long day. I don’t have any special considerations (bad knees, etc.). What have you had success with?
You need to be a bit more specific!! (I only wear boots in the Winter, and then only for the exterior).
But seriously, if you want a good boot, I have had success with this brand.
It also matters what conditions you work under… and where!
Home inspections are only a small portion of what I do. Commercial, Industrial, and Agricultural.
Blazing heat of Summer to Frigid sub-zero Winters, snow-ice-rain-mud-rock-livestock effluent- and on, and on, and on…
Boots are heavy and over time become uncomfortably hot.
I use a good lite shoe. Clark and Rockport being my go to shoes. Even a lite comfortable breathable sneaker.
I only use Winter Boots for the exterior. Muddy situations, new construction or rural or lots that flood, rubber boots, Insulated type. I use Soral CARIBOU boots in the winter. Take out the insulated insert when I get home and put it back in when I go to inspect.
Hope that helps.
I use Skechers Tactical Boots. Light, durable, water-proof, and grip the hell out of a roof. I love em but I live in TN…not an arctic, snow-covered climate.
Approach shoes.
As in what climbers use.
Grippy where it counts on the roof.
