So i have chat gpt set up with Microphone and voice response. I literally speak like a normal human asking questions, and get direct answers to just about anything, i can ask it to elaborate on a concern and get dang near perfect responses.
I started asking questions like, write a narrative according to internachi standards of practice and have gotten back absolutely perfect narratives. I didnt type at all, just copy past.
if it needed to be tweaked i ask to re write using etc. and it does asap. Super time saver!
Now chat gpt can recognize and read photos!!! Report writing just got way easier!!!
I love work, hard work. But i love simplicity and ease of work flow.
Let’s hope when you go to the doctor’s office, someone with skill and experience will be treating you instead of an automaton that relies on synthetic answers from their smartphone.
Narrative: Lack of GFCI Protection - Exterior Outlet
At the time of the inspection, it was noted that the exterior outlet in the rear of the property lacked Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protection and weather covering. This condition poses a safety concern as per the Standards of Practice (SOP). Immediate attention is recommended to install GFCI protection and weather-resistant covering to enhance safety measures and prevent potential electrical hazards.
over a couple post i notice your perspective looks at the negatives first, i can respect that. How ever, heres another perspective. Collaborating with the smartest tech you tend to learn. Meaning narrative mastery. You will have grasped the concepts and manner of reporting hence no need for Chat gpt if it were not available. So i agree, but also disagree respectfully
I can see your perspective, i appreciate that. How ever, it seems like synthetic answers may be a concern as well as automation. Let me give you a perspective. Having the smartest software on the planet at your finger tips, that learns, from you, from the things you say to it, over time with you working with your gpt, the answers wont sound synthetic at all. On the topic of having automated responses for each situation saves you and your customer time, especially if the correct narrative is expressed and fits the template you create for that topic/item/component. This is in my opinion only.
Yes, but YOU are the professional, you were the person hired to do the job, not the software.
Crafting narratives may seem tedious, but it’s part of our skillset and responsibilities; it shouldn’t be shrugged off to the Borg queen for the written report.
Nobody gives a crap about SOP until there’s a problem and the inspector tries to use it to get out of bad inspecting/reporting.
Every wants to know if it meets “Code”!
A safety hazard was identified during the inspection as the rear exterior outlet lacks both Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protection and weather covering, violating the requirements of the International Residential Code (IRC) Section E3802.2 and E3901.6. This deficiency exposes the outlet to potential electrical hazards, posing a risk to occupants and the property. Immediate corrective action is imperative to bring the installation in compliance with IRC standards by installing GFCI protection and weather-resistant covering, ensuring a secure electrical environment.
This is like a 2023 version of staying up all night to cram for a test you hadn’t prepared for…only to forget it about halfway thru the test the next morning!
Not “can”… MUST!
If you don’t give it specific instructions, it produces false statements, so whats the point?
By the time you educate the damned thing, you could have written multiple narratives and moved on to the next concern! .
