What is the question here?
I see a chimney that was constructed with highly permeable brick, added corbels for aesthetics, and a masonry parged coat around the flue for a poor excuse for a chimney cap.
What is the issue?

Chimney had numerous issues, so i had to recommend a licensed chimney sweep evaluate and repair the other issues, so maybe he will have a recomendation. I really dont feel like I have anything solid to write up on the extension…

Tim; thank you for the compliment, and you are more than welcome to ask anything you wish concerning building, because that is what I do.
To answer your question, I have hands on installed every foundation in the commercial sector of building that I have built. So no excuses if something dose not fit, ha. ha..
I do very little inspections due to this full time job, but appreciate comments from people like you due the fact I like and enjoy sharing my experiences with all the NACHI members.
