Hey y’all. So i’m coming up on fulfilling the requirements for the CMI certification. I’m thinking that the CCPIA courses could push me over that 1000 hrs/inspections mark. However in the CCPIA education dashboard I can’t see anywhere where the courses have a listed education time value. Does anyone know this information? Would those courses even count towards the CMI certification or does it have to be strictly residential? Thanks for any help & guidance!

Hi @jvogler— Most CCPIA courses list the hours on the main course page. You can find the main course page for specific courses from here: Commercial Property Inspection Courses - CCPIA
If you send me an email, I can help narrow everything down for you. I’ll have to check with Nick about commercial courses counting toward the CMI designation.
They count.

Does CMI have any added value to the CCPIA program?
CMI® intentionally doesn’t include the word “home” as it is a professional designation available to solely commercial inspectors as well as home inspectors. It’s the perfect professional designation for commercial inspectors to tout.
For those that don’t have the hours listed, can we approximate our time when using them for NACHI CE credit hours?
Yes, InterNACHI’s CE policy is 1:1. Here is info: Continuing Education (CE) Policy for InterNACHI® Certified Inspectors
Or just email fastreply@ccpia.org and we can provide the specific hours for a course based on approvals.
