CMI's on Agent Office Vendor Lists

My rant is actually a valid one because I actually hold the credential of a CMI.

Enforce the complaints and when someone lies about being a CMI, don’t invite him in so you can make some more bank. BAN HIM INDEFINATELY from becoming one.

So here we sit saying, we are so high and mighty, but if your a blatant liar and take work away from those who hold a valid credential, welcome and please become a member! That’s the answer? From someone who cares only about money, yes. Someone who actually cares about the industry, it is absolutely the wrong thing to do.

So if this is the case, why not lie until you get caught and IF you get caught? What stops that from happening?

So if someone walks into Walmart and put a iPad in their shirt and walks out of the store and the only punishment if caught would be to pay for it, what would stop people from attempting to steal it?

Makes no sense at all…and you see why people think its a joke, because it is what Nick and John have made it to be…an absolute Joke.

How about checking credentials also? That is not done. What about reviewing the applicant and see if they can spell inspector. All you do is submit to a background check, and sign a piece of paper saying…yepper, I meet the criteria, I promise.

Is that the way to run an elite organization? The answer is right before you, look at all of the experienced guys who think its an absolute joke. Can this many people be wrong?

NATHAN NOT SO LOUD. SOMEONE MIGHT LEARN SOMETHING…Shhhhh.

Nathan you have a valid point…why try to save the world? Is that the attitude we all should take? Screw them as long as I get mine? To me this is the demise of everything that used to be. It’s why service industry sucks, why America can’t make a car anyone wants and Korean cars are becoming the number one car sold in America.

Is “trying to save the world” from things that are wrong a bad thing? I know it can’t be done alone, but if little by little it changes many things can happen in a group effort.

Maybe it’s my stupid optimistic attitude that thinks this, but I still do and still will try to make a difference, one way or another.

I do realize what is right and wrong can be different from ones perspective, but there are common good things that should be done and attempted to do.

But that’s just the way I look at things, it may not be for everyone, but it works for me…

Yeah… That’s what Robert keeps sayin. Sorry!

Not really Jeffrey.
What I say that you do not hear is that you make valid points, have a gift that others should strive for, have a keen eye but can be default at times, as myself Jeffrey.
We both have mirrored similarities and manorisms that clash.

Like looking in an open frame of a building only its a mirror and fighting with the image. When you speak you do not here the words but think it the other person saying something else.
WOW maybe it is time for my meds Linas…HA HA HA

Anyway.
I have to keep in mind you can disagree and still remain friends.
All the best JJ.

Would you say the same thing if you we the founder of CMI?

You do nothing really to make the inspector better. Maybe helps the client, but your products do not make a badinspectors good, they are just marketing tools one can use. So actually you do nothing to improve the industry, just help protect the client.

You may see protecting the client as helping the inspector, it’s really not. Has nothing to do with the inspector and his profession, just a marketing tool to use and that I use.

But on that note, let’s take recall check. Would you get mad if I told people I did recall checks using your product, but never really did use your product? Advertise it on my site, use your logo. You mention, let’s not educate the world on CMI, yet you try to educate the world on recall check with your nice custom made videos.

Why did you make those videos? I mean why try to educate the world on using recall check…let me guess, because you financially gain from it. So now we should try to promote that! That’s. worthy cause. NOT CMI…recall check…

Once again, makes no sense to me.

For some reason you think people we should send a message that has purpose. So let me guess, your videos have purpose and nothing else does except your other products.

So tell me and I am willing to learn…what is the easy message clients want to hear? What is something their digestive tract can handle?

OMG Robert. There just might be hope for you yet!

Put the bottle down…now I know your drunk when you talk crazy like this!

InterNACHI freely admits it is not the International Association of Consumers Who Hire Home Inspectors. If that’s what you think the world needs… go do that.

InterNACHI is here to help inspectors first. Now if helping consumers helps inspectors… we’ll help them too, but only to the extent that it also helps the inspection industry. www.nachi.org/whats_new.htm is nothing short of amazing… but not of interest to consumers.

Always hope for everyone.

time to install the SSD.
Sorry all.

If that would be your CMI, it would be much more viable than the one now.

With regard to marketing, CPI (Certified Professional Inspector) isn’t too shabby of a professional designation either.

It’s free: www.nachi.org/cpi.htm

Yes but what do you say the difference is?
When should someone starting into the Home Inspection use this as a selling point.
Three things mentioned here.
You start with CERTIFIED? Then work up to PROFESSIONAL? Your last stop should be MASTER?
What separates all this? …I year 3 years 5 years 10 years.
Minimums need to be set for each designation and if you say that after taking a HI course in any COLLEGE makes you CERTIFIED that is OK as long as the Home Inspection Association you belong to accepts the Schooling.
Only time will tell if you progress to the NEXT level that of a PROFESSIONAL.

Nick had a great idea on his marketing tour. Start your own web site devoted only to the real estate agent.

I think NACHI, and it’s members, could benefit from that. Time to educate them, and to have Nick create a new, world, NACHI RE .org web site.

Interesting.
Thanks Garry.

Are you kidding me.
I would never put those letters on my site.
CMI, CPI all letters. They do not attract attention.
I Recommend to all, remove all that stuff…

Nick for God sake man, not so loud…Shhhhh…

I don’t think anyone argues that the use of the letters CMI is great subliminal marketing…nothing more and nothing less. I myself am still waiting on an answer from Gary about the fraudulent statement he made he made in his first post.

Gary is correct. I explain this on my Inspector Marketing Tour: www.InspectorBoost.com

If you are trying to take out a tank, you use a light ant-tank weapon. If you are trying to take out a plane, you use an anti-aircraft gun.

You should have the right weapon for the right target in war… and marketing is war.

If a consumer calls and tells you that the home they are looking to buy is 95 years old… you should tell the caller that you specialize in historic ("heritage for you Canadians) homes and that you’d like to email them your brochure on older homes.

If a REALTOR calls, you should refer them to a domain name that forwards to a section of your website that targets agents.
