My license expires this year and finding info for this stuff is very confusing.
How and where are the continuing education hrs. tracked?
I’m assuming it’s 42 CE hours total for the 3 yr. period, correct?
Can I retake approved courses (if I’ve already taken them at INachi) again to fulfill the CE requirements?
INachi has a ton of courses, but as far as fulfilling CE requirements for licensing, it’s really very limited. What other resources are there and where?
TIA.

Ohio home inspector licensees are required to complete 14 hours of approved home inspector continuing education within each year of the three year license term.
Josh, when you take the approved course just copy the certificate and send in with your renewal application. You should have taken 14 hours each year for the past 3 yrs. You cannot take all at once.
It’s true there are limited CE courses to take. You cannot repeat the courses during the 3 year span but you can re-take the courses for credit from years previous to the 3 year requirement.
You should be keeping track of all the CE you’ve completed each year. I keep mine on my computer (InterNACHI also keeps track of them) and then when it’s time to renew my licenses I send everything to the state with my renewal application. The certs are all dated so the state knows when any particular “state approved” course was taken and passed.
If you haven’t been taking the required 14 CEs annually, I recommend that you call the state and talk with them.
I guess we’re a lot luckier in Illinois. Nachi automatically submits everything when approved courses are completed. Also we can take the courses all at once, instead of so many hours for each of the Two years with our licensing renewal.
Also somehow Nachi has change things, so now the final exam counts as a proctored exam. That change wasn’t until recently. Before it was a pain scheduling and sitting up a proctor

Chris, does Illinois require any Face to Face time for any CE’s?
Kentucky has a few required course’s that you cannot get online and have to go to an approved school.
