Day 1 of Learning

Hi guys,

I just started reading through the material today on this journey to become a CPI and licenses in my state. I have started on Home Inspections Standard of Practice.

There is so much content to go through and I know all of it isn’t required in my state but I figured it would help me in learning all about this field. I really want to know everything there is to be learned here.

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start, if I’m not in the right spot? The amount of data is dizzying LOL. But very excited to get started.

Thanks in advance God Bless
Chris

Welcome Chris.

My top recommendation to you would be to join InterNACHI and start taking courses.
They’re free to all members.

SAME HERE!
I just started a week ago and started from Standards of Practice and got to 90% but… I don’t feel comfortable writing reports just yet. Can I complete the full 120 hours of the FL home inspection course and return to Standards of Practice Later?

I just started a week ago and I started with the Standards of Practice, but you are so right it can be very overwhelming and navigating all of the information there is available.

What I did for SOP was copied the entire textbook for all of SOP into a notebook by hand. I then went through the videos and digital course. I generally got 80 or 100 percent on evwru test because I had rwad the entire textbook first.

Not sure if that for everyone but I tend to learn better if I write it by hand and read it and then see it myself.

I guess I started in a good spot and Good Luck and God Bless to you both, lets do this!!!
