There were a number of these old receptacles that would accept NEMA 5-15s and 6-15s, some even taking 5-20s and 6-20s too. (“T” slots on both sides).


My only guess is that the industry was still in search of standards.

I believe it was leviton and this was a 220 volt and a 110 volt duel voltage receptical back then ,We now call the voltage 120/240 volts.
