What size is that window again? 
Does it need safety glass?
Does it matter at this point? I could shove my hand through the wood before it would go thorught the glass.

Yeah those tub wall windows are always rotted at some point.
At the risk of thread drift, the size of the window does not matter. If the bottom edge of the window is within 60" of the standing surface of the tub, it’s required to be tempered/safety glazing.
OK thats what I thought but did not look it up.
It sounds like someone may need to modify their report.
