Earn income inspecting residential roofs

I spoke with Bill at length this morning from my home. We have some big things coming for InterNACHI members.

No more NAZI discounts???:stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Can you either email me or post the disclaimers in your 3rd party warranty products, that is where the meat of your product is. JMHO

I assume your seriously considering our program so I’d be glad to forward to you the information in detail. I see that I don’t have the ability to send you an email so feel free to send me one bill@moisturefreewarranty.com

No Bill, I am not serious about your program, but I have been wrong before.

I would like to know about it but doubt it’s something for me…

I’m in the inspection business, not the warranty business.

I’ll send you me email and take a look at your info.

Bill,

Still no answers to the balance of my questions. Can you provide those answers?

Sorry, I noticed I did not cover all your specific questions.

We do not have any Certified Roof Inspectors or Roofing contractors in Texas since we have not yet promoted this program. We just announced it to NACHI members through the message board Wednesday.
As for the marketing efforts, we have alliances who will promote to homeowners, builders and Realtors, insured etc. to use MoistureFree Certified Inspector & contractors in order to obtain the warranty protection. So we expect consumers to become aware of the warranty through these channels but more importantly thought direct contact with the MoistureFree Inspector/contractors. As for the inspectors we made the system easy. Inspectors will enter on line the clients information and warranty type which they qualify for. This professional certificate will be presented by the inspector to notify the consumer that the inspector has inspected the roof to MF requirements and it meets (or not) for a MoistureFree Roof Performance Warranty. If they decide not to take it and a problem occurs, the inspectors exposure is reduced since a warranty was available and offered and they denied. Therefore, we provide all marketing materials to the MF inspectors & contractors. I hope this helps.

I’m a home inspector and include a roof inspection for my clients. Can you explain how your program is going to benefit me? I’m always looking for ways to improve my business.

Dan:

As a MoistureFree Certified Roof Inspector you can approve a home for a MoistureFree Roof Performance Warranty. When realtors, home buyers, homeowners want this warranty protection and we must refer them to a MoistureFree Certified Roof Inspector. Builders can use a MoistureFree Certified Roof Inspector to inspect their roofing contractors work and can differentiate their homes to consumers by offering this level of coverage (15 year) which protects the builder as well.

In addition to differentiating your value added services, you earn quality control fees from MoistureFree and can earn passive income if you recruit roofing contractors into this program.

Please review our website at www.moisturefreeinspections.com & the attached file. We’ll be offering NACHI members a special discount soon.

We’ve had an overwhelming positive response. I welcome some feedback regarding the program.

Bill, how many moisture free referrals did you give out in NH last year?

Bill,

Has this warranty been sanctioned/approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission for existing home sales and by the Texas Residential Construction Commission for new home builds?

We continually provide our MF inspectors leads for inspecting stucco buildings which was predominately our core business and the roofing program is a new program. But, we expect the demand to be even greater because of the opportunity. Even though it’s new, we’ve had request for a MF inspector.

If you’re looking strictly for leads and not interested in marketing yourself with this status and ability to approve a home for the warranty, then I would discourage you from the program.

I’ll refer this to our compliance department but I know that this warranty is different to any warranty available. All other warranties are sold blind. Meaning there was no inspection required to validate the work which cuts out the need for inspectors. Our warranty promotes the services of inspector which reduces the overall risk which the state is concerned about. This is the same as our stucco warranty sold in Texas.

Bill, thanks for the honesty. I really don’t think this program is right for me, as I said before, I’m in the inspection business not the warranty business.

Also, living on the seacoast of NH we have some of the most severe weather a roof will ever see, so I honestly don’t want to sell someone a warranty for a roof that I know will probably leak at some point. This happens all the time here even with new construction.

I guess my point is this, who is my client going to blame when I sell them a moisture free warranty, a Nor Easter comes in and it leaks. Way to much liability for me but good luck with your program.

Bill give me a call (or e-mail me @ jbhomeinspectionsinc@comcast.net) I have some people down here interested in the program. I need more info. Thanks

What bothers me about these programs is that people pay us to reassure them the roof is ok , only for us to turn around and try to sell them assurance that it is ok.
Something is wrong with this picture.
Since the above business is wanting us to be their sales force the training should be free , unless of course the whole business is about training fees.
Bill has no overhead in sending an already made video .
Send it for all to view and he will have an entire flock …if legit.
Whom here has made money with this program?

Robert;
Your certainly entitled to your opinion. But, the training /certification program allows qualified inspectors to inspect a home approving it for a warranty “not selling” .The homeowner has the choice to buy or not but, the inspector had the ability to approve the home for a warranty. Homeowners wanting this warranty must choose a MoistureFree Inspector. Therefore he gets the business SO HE WINS. We have astute inspectors who have signed up see no problem with gaining business this way. They also have the ability to inspect homes during construction SO HE WINS. When we have clients looking for inspectors we refer them to these qualified inspectors SO HE WINS. In the event there is a leak after the inspection and the inspector approved the home for a warranty and the homeowner choose not to purchase, the homeowner has little recourse SO HE WINS. They also paid fees for QC from MoistureFree.

For the nominal expense for the training & without having to sell the warranty the picture is clear who benefits.

We appreciate your response and understand this program is not for everyone. The inspectors who’ve signed on prefer to have non-MoistureFree inspectors in the market to compete against.

Bill, walk us through this scenario, I have just approved a roof for your moisture free warranty. One month later we have a horrific storm, rain, wind, ETC. The roof leaks, damages the interior of the home, after the claim is rejected due to excessive weather who do you think the homeowner is going to be upset with? your company who they have never met or me who approved the roof in the first place, regardless of the disclaimers in the contract/warranty.

By the way, what are the E&O implications?

PS, Bill no offence but in my mind anyone who will warranty a roof in my area is just plain stupid ( not directed at you ) or is just looking to make a buck.

If we go around selling a warranty for everything, what are we even needed for.
We can go back to just have everything looked at by a roofer a carpenter a plumber etc;
But it would be more expensive is the reply.
just my thoughts.
