I am wanting to get a good set of code books to keep with me. I have looked at several from professional equipment. Does anyone have any recommendations on what you use and why? Thanks.

Larry,

I like the Code Check books. They are actually like a quick reference flip chart. They reference most of the major codes.

Check them out here http://www.codecheck.com/

I leave these in my truck and I have a copy of each of the major code books at home. IRC, UMC, UPC, NEC

Hi to all,

I am with Patrick on this one, I keep "CodeCheck" with me all the time, (especially to explain to clients (or pissy realtors) why a certain system is inadequate) Plus I like to have NEC and IRC on the lap top for when I need to check something.

then I have other reference and code works at the office.

I just don't think you can do this job without them.

Regards

Gerry

Gerry,

How do you like having the NEC & IRC on the computer? Is it easy to search for a particular code? I'm getting ready to buy some new editions and can't decide if I should go with the CD rom or just stay with the books.

I have found them at www.professionalequipment.com. Seems to be the best prices I have found so far.

Thanks for all the help from everyone.

hi to all,

oh goody more free beer ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

I keep all 4 codechecks in the back of one of my tool cases.

I prefer the codes on cd rom as they are easy to search, but they are a bit clunky to use.

Unfortunately you cannot down load the Codes you have to buy them, bummer !! but there has recently been a test case that may change that, as there is a school of thought that codes are allready in the public domain.

I make that 2 Beers and 1 whisky chaser, pleaseure doing business with you guys (hic !!) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif) ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

I bought all of the code check books at Amazon (you have to look a while) for 10.50 each.
