Electric Vehicle Push Runs Out of Power

“The manufacturing of EVs produces at least 60 percent more carbon emissions than that of gas-powered cars. EVs start their lives with carbon debt.”

We are in transition and the market might have gotten ahead of itself, but there is no turning back EV’s are the future and this is actually good news as greater technology will be employed to solve this problem. For instance… Chinese automakers and battery giants join forces in powerhouse EV partnership: 'We need to be prepared’

I don’t understand why Bob, or anyone else for that matter, would even consider anything FOX News puts out as fact, being that they were already caught red handed lying to their audience about the 2020 election that resulted in them paying Dominion voting machines $787,500,000.00 to settle out of court, the largest media settlement for defamation in U.S. history.

Coordinate your talking points, if you want to score political points.
One day it’s about the impending invasion of low cost EVs, the next day about carbon debt, the next day about tire dust.

I guess enough hot air floats a balloon?
Cherry picking talking points then testing their social media reaction is NOT a solid foundation for public policy.

No offense to Bob as I value his opinions but I was thinking the exact same thing. You’ve read my mind. I won’t be convinced until it’s been corroborated by a legitimate source.

So I guess that means everything else is a lie too. Course we could say the same about you. If you tell me that you never lied as a child that would be a lie. So the question is, “Are you still a liar?” Poor logic all the way around. Stick to the content and stop with the Democrat/Green party talking points.

In case you hadn’t noticed the article was an opinion piece. Still you didn’t refute any of the content.

Typical of a party that always attacks the person (or entity) rather than the message. CNN, MSNBC, ABC are legitimate sources. By your standards I think not. They have all been caught in lies and misrepresentations.

Whoa, guess I hit a nerve there, eh Bob.?

That’s exactly why I did refute it, because it is a Fox News opinion piece. And I’m not about to Join Fox News for access to this content, so I’ll go with the title and what you posted about EVs.

And yes, EVs may start their lives with a carbon debt, but they don’t end their lives with one, certainly not when compared to a comparable ICE vehicle. So yours & the Fox News premise of EVs being so bad for the envioroment is misleading.

And I did post an article directly below that gives a more overall view of how EVs actually are much better for the environment over the life span of the vehicle.

I know you’re smarter than that Bob.

No nerve. Just stupid deplorable logic. No argument is ever won or even credibly participated in when an ad hominem attack is the opening salvo. The irony of that approach is it makes you less credible than the very news organization you are complaining about.

You don’t have to join anything for access. I didn’t! Another lame argument

Where do you think all that lithium batteries ends up. Presently we have a surplus of non-recyclable solar cells and wind generator blades. So called “green energy” is far from green.

Do you? That’s a condescending comment. It implies i’m smart enough to see things your way. That you know better. Grow up.

You can’t save the “enviroment” by damaging first. The premise that we are creating a super heated enviroment is rubbish to begin with. Its been hotter and colder on Planet Earth. Fact.

Here is a Government site that shows that your so called clean car uses dirty power in most parts of the Country to make it go.

Bob,

Where I agree that the EV push is so lame and not the right direction this comment is incorrect. Earlier this year (possibly late last year) Fox News (foxnews.com) made a HUGE blunder and started placing about 40% - 50% of their print content (possibly even video content) behind a sign in wall. Check your device (phone, computer, etc.) to see if you have some type of auto-login set either to FOX News or to one of the other possible access avenues.

Very bad time to do that in an election year where the True Fake News stations need to be countered in their lame, politically slanted content! You can see how it affects the brains of the Loony Lefters here.

I certainly didn’t know that. I have no sign in, automatic or otherwise. I do get a notice about sign in for video content that doesn’t interest me and I can’t sign in (no membership). I prefer to read words anyway. They do post a notice to turn off your adblocker, which I do, so I figured that was what he was talking about.

Since FOX News is one of the very few sites that actually are not Fake News I not only read the stories but also watch the interviews. I too thought the Ad Blocker might be a problem but that did not work when I turned it off.

If you’re pulling your feed from a streaming service that may be how you are bypassing it. I also don’t use or sign-up for any streaming services, social media sites, etc.

I don’t get FOX they want people there but this “Sign In” crap is getting to the point where I am seeking other level headed Non Fake News sources.

Fox makes me sign in too. But all you need is an email, not even a name or any other info. And surprisingly, they don’t send me junk mail.

But they still know everything about you. Who you are, where you live, who your wife and family is, when you drank your first beer and lied about the first time you had sex. All because you plugged in your email address.  :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s worth it. I’ll be honest, I mostly visit Fox to read the comments on the stories. Man, there are some doozies out there, lol.

Yep! Agree that there are a lot “doozies” out there that some of these folks post and want you to believe, and then come back and call dumb shits if we call them out. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nothing to do with you Bob. Your more sensible than the ones I’m talking about.

It is a good thing these artisan mines are not in America. If they were, no batteries would be sold. It is best to keep that out of sight and out of mind so we can continue to feel good about our green EVs.

Artisanal and small-scale mining are estimated to employ an estimated 200,000 people in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and over a million more are indirectly involved through trade and transport.

“we’re thinking about this energy transition as being something that will solve the environmental problems that the world is facing. But in reality, what’s happening is the problem is just shifting from one part of the world to another.”

They would not be mined! EPA and the “Green” lobby is a powerful force.

Hopefully new technology reduces the amount of scarce metals needed. I think some of the best and brightest minds are working on solutions.

I know it will improve. I am curious to see the human and environmental damage timeline against the improved conditions/materials timeline. I know the first Prius was released around 2000, so we are nearly 25 years in. When is the next breakthru? Or can we expect another 25 years?
