Scott!
If I can do it you can do it…

Congratulations, Scott!

I would like to to know what you studied Roy, I usually learn quickly and pass with 85 -100% and have studied multiple resources for the test (way to much info to learn, not wanting to fly). I just can not seem to get a straight answer on what I actually need to know for the test. Everyone always directs you back to the same place, but I don’t see how 50-60% of where they send me pertains to drones.

I have already taken the InterNachi course and passed with my usual scores.

I started the drone cert test, but I wondered about how hard they are to fly. A lower end drone, above “toy” but not into the realm of even a Mavic Mini, came into my possession from my pastor. He brought it in and said: “Do me a favor. Learn to fly this thing, then teach ME.” From my so far limited experience, getting in close enough for detail will be difficult because the lens is such a wide angle. I’m practicing by hovering 4 or 5 feet from my face, where I have serious motivation to keep it steady.

BTW, thanks for the videos. I plan on starting them tonight.

You just have to practice with it.

I am very much considering getting a drone license and using a drone for inspecting the roof of homes.

However, I am in Las Vegas, and I have been told that it is not worth it because you cannot use the drone legally in like 40% of the valley. That seems off to me, as I would assume you cannot use in areas like McCarran Airport, The private airport on Rancho, and Nellis Air Force Base… but I am not sure.

Thoughts? Especially from anyone in Vegas?

Totally agree

What were the videos that you watched?

I don’t know where they’re at now. I thought they were at the top of this thread.
I’ll try to look them up for you that’s been several years ago.
This is them.

Congrats to all that passed over the past few years.
