Greetings everyone,
I am a newby seeking information on Flammable Gas limits. My detector (spygas portable gas detector g2600) alarms at 0-100, 101-1000, 1001-10000, but does not give a specific ppm. I also have the spygas portable CO detector and was able to find the 9ppm and 35ppm rule. Have not seen any info on Flammable gas. Thanks for any info.

Gas detectors can be set off by plumbers putty and even bad breath. Trust the gas detector that you were born with. If you can smell natural gas you have found a leak. I seldom use my detector, when I smell a leak I will look at suspect joints and connections and then pull out my trusty bottle of children’s bubbles and cotton swabs.

Hi,
I'm the same way. I stopped regularly using the TIF years ago. When someone insists they smell gas and I can't I'll pull it out and use it to find the leak, but most of the time I rely on my own nose.
Had a house once where the guy had a workshop in his basement. The whole house set the TIF to screaming and there was no way to isolate anything. Too danged sensitive!
