It still baffles me how many of you are looking for insurance. Does this mean that you are operating without it? Guess that could explain why some of the inspection prices are so low.

Hi Mr. Siegel,

I have always had insurance since I got started in this business. However until this year, when I started to shop around, $600,000 coverage was costing me nearly $700 a year.

I came acroos Poppell insurance when quoting the GL and thought the price was great and would share it with others.

We all appreciate the sharing. The scary part is all of the inspectors who dont carry any insurance. They are only now complying because they are forced to. Maybe this will add $10.00 to everyones inspection price. However it should add $30.00.

Thank you for the information, Justin

just call your ins. company spoke with a Dan, he ask which company they put you with, if you could like me know that would be great . my e-mail it thomaskenney17@aol.com

You can expect around $270.00 for $300k coverage for each member of Limited Liability Co., and the same for **each **officer of corporation. Increase that to approx. $345.00 for 1 million coverage for **each ** member or officer. I got mine from Andy Miller @ Lee Reed Insurance (813)782-5502

Do you have contact info? Thats cheaper than In paying now…by far!

Those prices are not for South Florida as per my conversation with them…

That may be the case, I’m in Indian River County. I can’t imagine the premiums varying more than 10%, but then again, I know nothing of the underwriting policies.

I just called John Poppell. What a typical piece of crap. Called, took 4 days to get back to me. Then I have to leave a message. Then try to talk to one of his “people” who don’t answer the phone. Very frustrating. What has the world come to when it become difficult to SPEND your money?

I could care less if he has insurance for $1.50. If he can’t take care of me now, what about when I need him!

Have you tried calling Andy? Email him and he will respond within an hour or so. However, they leave the office at 4:oo pm.

Hey guys,

Sorry if you are/were having trouble with Poppell. They were very prompt with me and I was able to quote and switch my policy over to them same day and it was about one third what I was paying. I thought I would share the word.

Justin, I appreciated your input with his info no offence take over here.

I have recommend Andy Miller on this site. He’s by far the most reliable in returning phone calls and e-mails. A real stand up guy.
