I suspect it was blocked, the panel was in the pantry behind the kitchen. There were tale-tale signs that items were stored on the shelf. I put an information note in the writeup regarding the importance of keeping the electrical panel access clear.

The buyer closes on the home tentatively on July 27th. I have asked her to let me know when they are scheduling the new installation, they are also going to re-wire the home, no grounds on outlets, fixtures and appliances. This was an home looking for an accident. I will let you know as soon as I know.

Those FPE’s are something. I had an early 80’s home Sat. that had two FPE’s. Not one main and one sub. Actually two main panels. The 70 amp AC breaker should have been on a 40 amp max and three or four breakers came right off the housing when I tripped them. Scary…
