Gas Line Required to Have Shut-Off?

Hello,
I was curious if a gas line ran to the exterior for a gas grill was required to have a shut off valve at the stub out?
Every other house I’ve inspected there is usually a shut off at the wall.
House was built in 2020 - State Arkansas

I don’t call that out, but agree that a valve, then capped is smarter.

You’d need to consult the codes for your area to know what is required. In the picture you supplied the valve would be installed when the line was connected to the grill. A capped gas line does not require a valve.

Not in use.
Cap corrasion.
